Update on ShareThis Insights Dashboard

Overview

As of August 15th 2015, we made a hard decision and retired the insights dashboard. This change does not require any action on your part and will not affect the current implementation of the sharing tools on your site.

However, analytics reporting as a feature isn't going away permanently; rather we're making changes to the way it's being processed and delivered.

Automated Reports

In the interim, publishers interested in continuing to receive data/stats may request to have the following reports broken out by domain sent to their email address on an automated basis:
  • Top 20 URLs by shares

  • Top 20 URLs by clicks

  • Top 10 channels by shares

  • Top 10 channels by clicks
You may choose to see this data either weekly or monthly.
For weekly data, the reports will be sent each Monday.
For monthly data, the reports will be sent on the first day of each month.

Report Definitions

Top Shared URLs

This report shows the 20 URLs by shares for each domain for each domain that you requested data. Shares are generated from any of the following three ways:

  1. A user directly posts to a channel via the widget. For example, a user specifically clicks on the Twitter button the widget; ShareThis counts the share when the user clicks 'Share' in the widget

  2. A user posts to multiple channels via the widget. In this case, a user clicks ShareThis icon and selects multiple channels to post the link to. ShareThis registers the share when the user clicks 'Share' in the widget.

  3. If you have our CopyNShare functionality enabled, then a share is counted when a user copies a URL from one of your pages and posts to a channel, such as Facebook.

Top Clicked URLs

This report shows the 20 URLs by clicks for each domain for each domain that you requested data. A click is defined by a user clicking on another users' share on a social channel. For instance, if a user shared to Twitter, then a click is registered when another user clicks on the first users' post within Twitter.
