Share using ShareThis Page Widget – no JavaScript
Overview
If your site or application does not wish to embed our JavaScript widget, you can redirect the user to our ShareThis hosted web-page that supports full sharing of all social networks and email. Examples of such applications include HTML newsletters sent by email, and sharing of Flash content. Follow the instructions below.
Setup
- Register a ShareThis Account and get your publisher key and secret access key. See Usage for details.
- Visit the Get Button Page. Don't worry about configuring the widget at this point. Make a note of your generated publisher-key.
Sharing
If you wish to enable sharing of your content (e.g. newsletter, Flash video) we recommend using our hosted page that supports our full set of social destinations including email. This page-based version of our JavaScript widget includes support for importing user contacts from GMail, Yahoo Mail, etc. for email based sharing. Simply re-direct the user on clicking a image/chiclet inside your content to the end-point described below and pass the necessary URL parameters.

If you are using this on a email newsletter, make sure you add our sharing buttons to the destination page. This will ensure that you get complete detailed analytics for sharing related to that page.
