Overview

Adding sharing buttons to your Tumblr page easy. Just remember to follow these three simple rules:

  • Register - You'll need to register (it's free!) to obtain a publisher key for your button.
  • Get Button - Choose a button from our Get Button Page to generate your code.
  • Add Your Code - Paste your generated code from the Get Button Page to your Tumblr page following the instructions below. Done!


Getting The Code

If you haven't already done so, we suggest registering first. If your already a ShareThis user, go ahead and sign-in. Once you've signed in, navigate to the Get Button Page.

 




Customize

Click here to login to your Customize Tumblr Page. You will see your blog preview load.

 

 

 

 




Choose Theme

Click on Theme in the top navigation menu. A drop-down menu will appear

 

 

 

 




Find Custom HTML

Below the thumbnails, look for the 'Use Custom HTML' link. Click on the link and you will see the HTML code.

 

 

 

 




Paste Head Code

Paste the code section 2 (the script tags) at the very end of the <head> section, which is right before the tag <head>. The easiest way to do this is to do a ctrl+f (which should let your search the page for text) and do a search for </head>

 

 

 

 




Paste Body Code

Now add the code section 1 (the span tags) where you want the buttons to show up on the page. Typically, we suggest that the you paste the code right after {/block:Title} (this will place it right after the post title) or right before {/block:Posts} (this will place at the end of the post).

 

 

 

 




Save & Close

You are all done. Click on the green Save & Close or Save button on the top right. You should now see the ShareThis buttons on your blog. You can learn about advanced customization options here
