Overview

The analytics API provides access to overall sharing activity for a domain. These include total outbound shares, inbound social clicks, and page views (for pages with ShareThis button). Data is provided based on specified time period.

ShareThis tracks analytics primarily by publisher key. A publisher key is unique to each registered site owner's account. Sites may use the same key to track multiple domains they own (by embedding the JavaScript tag in the tag of their web-pages). ShareThis associates the publisher key against that domain and maintains this association in observed log traffic. This data is generally summarized in the analytics web dashboard for registered users. However, we recognize that sites may wish to query their analytics through API's to integrate with other internal systems they operate. The analytics API makes this possible.
